Hyde Park

Hyde Park is a union of city and suburban life styles. It has huge amount of useful, open space such as the George Wright Golf Course. It is the area of the Rich and Famous including Boston’s Mayor.

Jamaica Plain

Jamaica Plain is a part of the City of Boston though it is often thought of as an independent town. It is sandwiched between Roxbury and Brookline. If East Boston is diverse then diverse would be an understatement for Jamaica Plain or “JP” as  it refered to by the residents. JP has a representation of almost every ethnicity, socio-economic stratum, and sexual orientation. This rich diversity has created a strong character of social awareness and tolerance.

Mattapan

Mattapan is an annexed neighborhood. It became part of Dorchester in 1870. Mattapan developed with the growth of the railroads and streetcars. This is a predominately residential are with a mix of single homes as well as two and three story family houses. The Commercial hub of the neighborhood is Mattapan Square, where Blue Hill Avenue, River Street, and Cummins Highway meet.

Mission Hill

Mission Hill was once the district of farms and breweries, today it is an architectural landmark district with freestanding houses, traditional brick rowhouses, and many three deckers. Students and staff from the nearby Longwood Medical Area form the majority of residents here. Mission Hill offers its residents an excellent view of the city.

North End

This big city can boast of having a neighborhood that offers a small town life style, with corner drug stores and family groceries, it is also reputedly the safest neighborhood in Boston. The North End has a plethora of Italian restaurants, which is indicative of the strong ties to Italian roots that the residents maintain. North End has an Italian Festival every weekend throughout the summer.
