Boston Neighbourhood

The first six neighborhoods of Boston are commonly referred to as ‘Downtown Boston’. Boston is considerably a safe place to travel to and fro. Gain an insight into the world of Boston and some of its popular neighborhoods with our guide…

The Waterfront : This narrow area runs along the Inner Harbor, on Atlantic Avenue and Commercial Street from the North Washington Street Bridge to South Station. Earlier known for its warehouses, Waterfront today abounds with luxury condos, ports, restaurants, offices, and hotels. Harbor Cruises and Whale0watching are popular activities conducted here.

The North End : As you head east toward the Inner Harbor after crossing I –93, you’ll come to one of the city's oldest neighborhoods.
North End is home to waves of immigrants in the course of history, predominantly Italian for most of the 20th century. You’ll be delighted to catch glimpses of popular Italian restaurants and shops. The main street is Hanover Street.

The Financial District : This is the financial hub of Boston. Downtown Crossing, Summer Street, Atlantic Avenue, and State Street bound Financial District together.
This area is mostly known for housing major banking, insurance, and legal establishments. Apart from few popular nightspots, this area exhibits a quaint atmosphere.

Beacon Hill : This is a prominent area in Boston. Narrow tree-lined streets and architectural showpieces make up this residential area in the shadow of the State House.
Louisburg (pronounced "Lewis-burg") Square and Mount Vernon Street are two of the loveliest and most exclusive spots of Boston are in Beacon Hill. You would be thrilled to see popular places such as the Government Center, Boston Common, the Back Bay, and the Massachusetts General Hospital, on the nominally less north side
of the neighborhood. Charles Street, which divides the Common from the Public Garden, is the main street of Beacon Hill. Other important thoroughfares are Beacon Street, on the north side of the Common, and Cambridge Street.

The Back Bay : This is among the best neighborhoods as it is loaded with gorgeous architecture and chic shops. The Back Bay lies between the Public
Garden, the river,Kenmore Square, and either Huntington Avenue.
Major avenues include Boylston Street, which starts at Boston Common and runs into the Fenway; residential Beacon Street and "Comm. Ave." (Commonwealth Avenue).
