Bunker Hill Monument

This 221-foot granite obelisk was built to honor the memory of the colonists who died in the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775. Climb the 294 steps to the top of the obelisk for a spectacular view of Boston city. The monument is actually situated on Breed’s Hill where the Battle of Bunker Hill was fought. Bunker Hill is a quarter-mile from the monument.

Museum of Afro-American History

The museum offers a comprehensive look at the history and contributions of blacks in Boston. The museum comprises of the African-American Meeting House, one of the nation’s oldest black churches, and the Abiel Smith School, the first Boston classroom for Black Children.

Museum of Fine Arts

The second largest art collection in the United States includes works by Dali, Monet, Van Gogh, among others. The museum also houses an extensive collection of Asian and Indian art. The European artwork spans from the 11th to the 20th century.

Museum of Science

The Museum of Science contains the world’s largest lightning machine and also includes the Hayden Planetarium. The Mugar Omni Theater shows scientific films on a four-story doomed screen.
